The Increasingly Fast Pace of Digital Technology
Research carried out by The Global center for Digital Business Transformation revealed that top management execs worldwide realize the importance of the digital revolution. Over fifty percent of the executives surveyed revealed that there has been a significant level of digital disruption when compared with two years ago.
Productivity is on the rise due to the evolution of digital products. Several organizations are beginning to see the importance of using digital services in running daily business activities.
One of the most notable technologies playing a significant role in digital disruption is Managed Print Services (MPS). MPS has been around for a while although the underlying technology has undergone significant improvements overtime. Initially, providers of MPS produced useful data in operations, like monitoring the number of service calls and keeping accurate data of pages printed. However, this information was of little importance to senior management executives or in business advancement.
Currently, with the aid of partners in cloud analytics, HP has been able to change the importance of MPS from providing minor printing services to a very useful tool for business. Organizations now have access to relevant information as it relates to printing behaviors, printing cost and how printers are being utilized to increase efficiency and productivity.
MPS has helped to digitalize the processes involved in the use of papers, this has served as the foundation for developing a truly digital organization. By scanning documents, organizations can share information effectively while reducing overhead cost, increasing collaboration, improving productivity and speeding up the customer on-boarding process.
Another section that is ready for automation is invoicing. Invoices can be created electronically and sent via an automated process for review or it can be scanned and stored on an enterprise content management system (ECM). Asides being time efficient, replacing conventional paper processes with digital technology helps to eliminate errors that may arise from moving data from one paper to another.
Using digital technology also helps to produce relevant information. Digital processes can be investigated to get a better view of performance, cost and risks. Inculcating this into Big data will help to ensure management are presented with relevant data which helps to improve the decision-making process.
Being able to manage fleets intelligently will also help to reduce cost and the workload on information technology while improving the productivity of employees in the process ensuring you can print securely whenever the need arises. Improvement in results have led to an astonishing 98 percent increase in MPS subscription by its current customers.
Projections made by the Transparency Market Research project indicates that the MPS market worldwide will be worth an estimated value of 95 billion USD in 2024. Report from Quocirca also reveals that 72 percent of organizations surveyed feel MPS is an essential tool in driving digital transformation.
